Plastic Mold Polishing Process

1. Fine polishing

Diamond grinding paste is mainly used for fine polishing. If using a polishing cloth wheel to mix diamond grinding powder or paste for grinding, the usual grinding sequence is 9 μ m（#1800）~ 6 μ m（#3000）~3 μ m（#8000）。 nine μ M's diamond grinding paste and polishing cloth wheel can be used to remove hairlike grinding marks left by # 1200 and # 1500 sandpaper. Then polish with adhesive felt and diamond grinding paste in the order of 1 μ m（#14000）~ 1/2 μ m（#60000）~1/4 μ m（#100000）。 The accuracy requirement is 1 μ Above m (including 1 μ m) The polishing process can be carried out in a clean polishing room in the mold processing workshop. For more precise polishing, an absolutely clean space is necessary. Dust, smoke, dandruff, and saliva can all scrap high-precision polished surfaces obtained after hours of work.

2. Rough throwing

After milling, electrical discharge, grinding, and other processes, the surface can be polished using a rotary surface polishing machine or ultrasonic grinding machine with a rotational speed of 35000-40000 rpm. Semi-fine polishing mainly uses abrasive paper and kerosene. The number of sandpaper is sequentially: # 400~# 600~# 800~# 1000~# 1200~# 1500. In fact, # 1500 abrasive paper is only suitable for hardened mold steel (above 52HRC), not for pre hardened steel, as this may cause burns to the surface of pre hardened steel parts.

4. Fine polishing

With grinding paste for fine polishing, 8000010000 will reach the mirror surface.
